Essie Country Reflections - Jupiter
Essie Country Reflections
This is something new I want to try. It will be commentary’s about country music and about my song of the week. I’m not sure how often I will do this. In part, it will depend how well it’s received.
My first Essie Country Reflections commentary is about a comment posted about this week’s song of the week, “Jupiter.” I hope you enjoy it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Thank you for your time.

My recent posting of Essie Country’s 21st Century Real Country Music Song of the Week, “Jupiter,” received a comment that caused me to weigh in my mind; to view with deliberation; to examine carefully; to consider attentively. That’s the definition for “ponder,” as defined by Marriam-Webster.
What caused me to ponder that comment regarding “Jupiter?” The comment was from an anonymous poster; I’m not going to say it was my daughter April who commented on the song “Jupiter,” by Camryn Marie, saying it “….had a little karaoke sound for her.” What? A little karaoke sound? What does that even mean?
I think “Jupiter” is an awesome-sounding song. I believe Camryn’s performance was outstanding! Karaoke? Not even for one note! Even after listening to that song at least 89 times, I still don’t hear anything that sounds like karaoke to me.
So, I wondered, am I missing something? Is her mesmerizing voice hiding things I don’t hear? I then decided to look up what “sounds like Karaoke” means. This is what “AI” told me:
“Sounds like karaoke” implies the voice sounds amateurish, off-key, or overly enthusiastic, perhaps with noticeable echo or reverb effects commonly added by karaoke machines.
Nope! Not to me. Not ever close. Not at any point in the song. Not even after 89 times!
It could also refer to the specific sound of a karaoke track. Karaoke tracks are often created using MIDI instruments (synthesized sounds) instead of real orchestral recordings, which can give them a distinct, sometimes "fake" or artificial quality.
Nope! I bet this song doesn’t have a karaoke track. I found the instrumentation of “Jupiter” pleasing to listen to and genuine. Not to mention, in my opinion, it helped keep this song country and save it from becoming part of today’s fake country music takeover of the genre.
The bottom line: everyone has an opinion about my songs of the week. I encourage them to share their thoughts on the song of the week. That always enhances the experience of visiting Essie Country. Who knows, it might become the subject of my next Essie Country Reflections commentary.
I respect everyone’s opinion, even if it might not be a correct assessment of my song of the week. So, if you excuse me, I need to get back to my karaoke studio to pick next week’s Essie Country’s 21st Century Real Country Music Song of the Week and listen, once again, to “Jupiter,” for the 90th time.
If you would like to hear Jupiter again, click on the link below. It’s still “free,” even after 89 times.
I like it Gene, I can listen on the computer from here. I hope it goes well!
